Official: 4th edition of GIJ Eminence Awards succesfully launched


RadComm LLC, a campus-based group at the Ghana Institute of Journalism has launched a new edition of the GIJ Eminence Awards for the fourth time running.

The launch which took place on 5th August, 2019, in Accra also marked an opening of all nominations for potential award winners from various categories.

In a statement released by Miss Patience Agyekum, Managing Director of RadComm Campus – GIJ, “the 2019 edition is aimed at recognizing and honouring positive works of young people in the society.”

The statement added;

“We look forward to an amazing and impactful event this years as always. We believe students must be encouraged to keep pursuing their dreams and never give up.”

“Eminence Awards serves as a springboard to many who aspire to reach higher heights with their talents, passion and their act.”

In all, 52 Awards will be up for grabs at the end of the event.

The public is encouraged to engage actively in the Awards by nominating qualified persons to fill up their choice of category.

An Applicant must be a student of GIJ with proven track record in this field.

Note that, successful applicants will be called for interview to provide evidence of their works by the Eminence Awards Jury Board.


In light of recent years, a lot of tertiary institutions have come to accept that acknowledging students not only in the academic field, but in different aspects has a positive impact on one’s life by awarding them for the good they do outside the classroom or lecture halls.

Over the past 4 years, the Ghana Institute of Journalism students have been organizing this amazing event and awarding students who excel in the various niches that they have chosen outside the lecture halls that otherwise may not have been recognized be it in their talents; music, poetry, fashion, humanitarian, entrepreneurial skills and the likes.

This 4th edition of the Eminence Awards and the expectations are high because of the various successes of the students over the years which have gone unnoticed.

The students have to be honoured to do their best wherever they find themselves, whether it is their academics or other extracurricular activities or even their God given talent.
